Hayle Canoe Club members tried something completely different when they ran an “it’s a knockout” competition on Wednesday evening 19th July.
Hayle Harbour offered a superb setting for jousting, tug of war, three legged race “stepping stones”; all with canoes or kayaks.
Convincing winners were the “Dozy Tarts” Ladies team but there were plenty of other prize winners through the generosity of local businesses. This all round club effort with barbecue afterwards also contributed to club funds.
Fun is an essential element of canoeing, a sociable recreational sport which continues to thrive. This family orientated club, very much part of the local community has been in existence for over thirty years. In that time well over a thousand people, mostly young have been taught to canoe and kayak by club instructors.
